FRESNO, CA. - The Fresno Pacific women's basketball team could not pull it out down the long run after leading Westmont College 29-25 at the half. The Warriors outscored the Sunbirds 38-23 in the second period to go on to claim the victory.
Senior point guard Alisha Heglund led Westmont in scoring with 16 points.
Junior forward Jessica Torrecillas led the orange and blue with a game-high 20 points and nabbed 7 rebounds on the night.
Sophomore forward Keri Stephanoff also chipped in with 11 points and 6 boards in the contest.
The Sunbirds had the Warriors on their heels in the first period while shooting 12-18 (66.7%) from the field, but were unable to contain Westmont in the second half. The Warriors outscored FPU with an impressive 38-point performance during the second half that sealed the deal.
