FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (6-2) came up big in their victory over Merced going into a big weekend at the Lancer Invitational. The Sunbirds cruised by Merced 22-3.
Glenn Lyon led with five goals, while
Chris Maldonado and
Krisztian Kovacs both had three apiece. Eleven different Sunbirds scored goals in the game getting everyone playing time after leading 11-1 at halftime.
Riley Warner and
Ray Eggert shared goalie duties with four and six saves, respectively.
Coach Brian Suhovy commented, "It was a great chance to get to see everyone in the pool and work on things for this weekend."
This weekend the Sunbirds will travel to RIverside for the Lancer Invitational where they will look to improve on their 0-4 record from last season. The Sunbirds will rematch La Verne who they defeated 17-6 last weekend. Their first match will be on Friday, September 25 at 3:45 p.m. against Chapman.
