Fresno Pacific (11-15) finished their season much improved from last season winning seven more games than in their first season. Along the way, three Sunbirds were also honored as Academic All-Americans
Tim Kahn, Caleb Goings and Gabe Calderon were all recognized this year. Kahn received an Outstanding ranking, the highest honor, while Goings received Superior and Calderon received Excellent. The three players earned honors for maintaining a GPA over 3.2 while competing this fall. The NAIA does not have an award for the water polo players, so all the players were listed together with the NCAA schools.
The Sunbirds opened their season winning their first three games and four of their first six. Before the mid point of the season, the Sunbirds had as many wins as they had all last season. They finished their regular season as well as they started sweeping the Merced Tournament, taking their final three games.
The Sunbirds went 0-2 at the NAIA Invite, but improved greatly, and the Sunbirds will look to continue to improve next season only losing two seniors: Mike Kemether and goalie Caleb Goings.
