SANTA CLARITA, CA. – Fresno Pacific (30-0, 19-0 GSAC) kept things rolling after last week’s three victories over top-five teams, sweeping the Master’s College (10-20, 2-18 GSAC) 25-13, 25-20, 25-15.
The Sunbirds were nearly flawless with only nine errors -- only four by the Sunbirds’ starters. The starters hit an impressive .456 hitting percentage on the night while the Sunbirds hit .371 as a whole.
Martina Gregusova led the Sunbirds with 14 kills on 25 attempts and only one error for a .520 hitting percentage. Gregusova also had 12 digs and three aces.
Lisa Shilling hit .500 with five kills on eight attempts and one error, and led the Sunbirds with three blocks. The Sunbirds finished up with six team blocks.
"We performed well," Sunbirds coach Dennis Janzen said, “It was great to get the win as we continue to tune up for the National Tournament.”
The Sunbirds’ defense kept Fresno Pacific dominant 46 digs to Master’s 34.
Mariah Mandelbaum led with 15 digs. The Sunbirds’ defense held Master’s to a .101 hitting percentage and a .000 hitting percentage in the final set.
Fresno Pacific will finish its regular season with two home matches. At 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 14) the Sunbirds will take on Westmont and on Thursday (Nov. 19) will face CSU Bakersfield.
