Stellar second half secures Sunbird's first win.
ROCKLIN, CA. - After trailing 28-36 at the half, the Fresno Pacific women's basketball team relied on a solid second half performance to defeat Oregon Tech 77-60 in the opening game of the Warrior Classic. The Sunbirds had four players score in double digits on the way to the victory and shot an impressive 61.5% (16-26) from the field after scoring 49 points in the second period of play.
Sophomore guard
Keri Stephanoff led the way for the orange and blue while going 6-7 from the field, and was perfect at the line converting 4-4 for a total of 16 points.
Junior forward
Jessica Torrecillas contributed 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-6 FT) of her own, while junior guard
Michele Rebozzi was 3-3 from behind the arc and went 5-8 from the field for 13 points.
Senior guard
Jessica Mazza rounded off the double figure scorers with 11 points and was also solid in the paint grabbing a team high 7 rebounds.
With the win, the Sunbirds improve to 1-3 and will look to build off the Oregon Tech victory going into tomorrow's (11/14) matchup versus Northwest Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
