FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific women came out ready for redemption after falling to Fresno State in their last duel meet, and showed their strength winning 10 of the 13 events on the day against East Bay. The Sunbirds took the meet convincingly 140-83.
Stacy Carter led the Sunbirds as the only double-event winner on the swimming side, taking the 200 freestyle (2:00.32) and the 500 freestyle (5:22.84). Freshmen
Amanda Plymette took both one-meter and three-meter diving events.
Brooke Turner took the 1650 freestyle (18:22.06);
Cheyenne Coffman took the 200 individual medley (2:16.10); Freshmen
Nathalie Kampen won the 100 freestyle (56.42); and redshirt-freshmen
Joclyn Ford won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.35).
The Sunbirds will travel separately next weekend as the women travel to the Bay Area Invitational and the men take on UC Davis in their first duel meet of the year. Both meet will begin on Friday, November 13 in the afternoon, and the women’s meet will continue on Saturday, November 14.
