FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (32-0) completed their regular season perfect for the second straight year, and in the same fashion as last. The Sunbirds swept NCAA Div. I CSU Bakersfield (16-13) for the third time in the last three meetings, and second time in a row to finish the regular season. The Sunbirds took the match in straight sets, 25-13, 25-16 and 25-21.

LAS VEGAS, NV. – The #3 ranked Fresno Pacific men’s basketball team defeated #9 Westminster ( Utah) 87-85 Saturday afternoon in the Las Vegas Shootout tournament. The Sunbirds trailed 39-30 at the half, but rallied in the second period and two overtimes to defeat the Griffins and improve to a perfect 5-0 on the season.

With the game tied at halftime, the Beacons proved to be too much for the Sunbirds down the stretch outscoring Fresno Pacific 34-22 in the second half to claim the victory.

LAS VEGAS, NV. - It was Friday the 13th, which in the end turned out to be a bad omen for the #1 ranked Robert Morris basketball team who faced a highly motivated and talented FPU squad. The #3 Sunbirds brought the Eagles' worst nightmares to fruition Friday evening after leading RMU by as much as 30 points in the first half, and eventually defeated the NAIA's top dog 98-88 in the Las Vegas Shootout Tournament.

ROCKLIN, CA. - After trailing 28-36 at the half, the Fresno Pacific women's basketball team relied on a solid second half performance to defeat Oregon Tech 77-60 in the opening game of the Warrior Classic. The Sunbirds had four players score in double digits on the way to the victory and shot an impressive 61.5% (16-26) from the field after scoring 49 points in the second period of play.
